Summary

Seasonal migration of passerine birds on the Putorana Plateau, Siberia, follows distinct spatial and temporal patterns. Birds migrate along river or lake edges, with spring migration occurring from late May to mid-June (8–17 days) and autumn migration spanning late July to late August (14–31 days). The study reveals that 70–80% of individuals pass through within a shorter interval, with population density peaking in the south. Migration intensity is higher on colder days and follows a wave-like pattern, with 1–4 waves per season. Spring migration dynamics vary annually among related species, while autumn migration shows no synchronization. The research used route-counting methods on transects to analyze these patterns.
