Summary
A participatory methodology for assessing urban transformations in degraded and abandoned areas, focusing on visually perceived quality, was successfully applied to the Pompeii Archaeological Site as part of the Grande Progetto Pompei. This approach engaged diverse stakeholders to evaluate urban regeneration efforts, particularly along Torre Annunziata's waterfront, aiming to enhance archaeological site accessibility and surrounding urban areas. The study provides a scalable decision-support tool for future urban planning projects, prioritizing interventions based on shared urban visions while offering adaptable insights for similar contexts.
