Summary
Research at Wulingyuan reveals that rural tourism development has significantly enhanced the livelihood capital of households, with notable variations among different household types. Tourism-dominant households exhibit the highest levels of livelihood capital, followed by working-dominant and agricultural-dominant households. The study identifies social capital, particularly online social media and social network support, as the primary obstacle across all household types, while family farmland area also poses significant challenges. Using a participatory farmer survey method, the research constructs a livelihood evaluation index system to assess household livelihood strategies, capital, and obstacles, providing critical insights for sustainable development in World Heritage Sites.
