Summary

Yosemite National Park's geotourism initiative, aimed at fostering sustainable regional development and enhancing visitors' sense of place, has shown promise in improving collaboration among stakeholders but faces challenges in addressing traffic congestion. The study, based on interviews with key actors, attendance at local meetings, and analysis of planning documents, suggests that while the initiative may contribute to long-term sustainability goals, its immediate impact on traffic is limited. However, the potential for exacerbating regional inequities as these strategic concepts are further developed remains a concern.
