Summary

Underground tourist routes, particularly those in former mines, hold significant cultural heritage value and high tourist potential. A study evaluating eight such routes across Poland found that those with the most substantial mining heritage also attracted the greatest visitor interest, despite relatively low awareness levels. These routes serve as interactive educational platforms, showcasing mining equipment, techniques, and customs while functioning as unique tourist destinations. The research assessed their tourist value through surveys and evaluations, identifying key strengths—such as their educational and historical significance—and areas for improvement to enhance visitor engagement.
