Summary

Farmers in Nyaruguru District, Rwanda, are more likely to adopt organic coffee production methods when they have higher education levels, larger land holdings, greater farming experience, and access to enhanced soil fertility practices. These factors significantly influence their decision-making process, as revealed by a logit regression analysis. The study also highlights that the demand for organic products can create new export opportunities and contribute to local food security by increasing family incomes. However, key constraints include unstable markets, high input costs, lack of extension services, and inadequate capital. Recommendations focus on improving farmer awareness through agricultural extension services and stabilizing coffee markets.
