Summary
A comprehensive historiography of burial sites in the Sheki region, Azerbaijan, reveals significant gaps and unaddressed questions in their study since classical antiquity. The analysis highlights a lack of systematic research on these sites, despite their cultural and historical importance. The study employs a critical review of existing literature, archaeological reports, and historical records to map the evolution of research methodologies and identify key challenges in the field. Findings underscore the need for interdisciplinary approaches to better understand the burial practices, societal structures, and chronological frameworks of this region during antiquity.
