Summary
A pioneering analysis of wooden hypostyle mosques from the Seljuk and Principalities periods in Anatolia reveals groundbreaking ceiling solutions, contributing significantly to conservation efforts. This study is among the first to document such architectural techniques, providing detailed typological and structural insights that are crucial for preserving these UNESCO-listed structures. The research combines on-site examinations with three-dimensional modeling of a restored mosque, offering comprehensive documentation from foundations to roofs. By examining both original construction methods and regional influences, this work advances our understanding of medieval Anatolian architecture and supports the preservation of remaining high-quality examples.
