Summary
A comprehensive survey of Lindsaea hamiguitanensis, a narrow endemic fern, in the core zone of Mount Hamiguitan Range Wildlife Sanctuary revealed critical baseline data for its conservation. The study documented 3,412 mature individuals across 105 colonies and 162 GPS occurrence points along five trail segments. Notably, the highest density of mature individuals was found in the 901–1050 m mossy forest band, while the greatest number of colonies occurred in the 1051–1300 m mossy-pygmy forest band. Conducted via non-destructive opportunistic surveys from March to April 2024, this research provides essential insights for monitoring the species' distribution and guiding trail management strategies in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
