Aerial and satellite remote sensing reveal the potential of Umm ar-Rasas, Jordan, as a key fortified settlement along the Limes Arabicus—a historic frontier transitioning from Roman to Byzantine rule. This study demonstrates how modern survey techniques, including photogrammetry and laser scanning, can identify, document, and preserve ancient settlements in this region. The findings highlight the significance of integrating remote sensing with advanced mapping tools for archaeological research, paving the way for site valorization programs such as virtual and real-world routes to enhance public engagement with heritage sites.
