Summary
Visiting the Liangzhu Culture Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Hangzhou, China, offers visitors four distinct leisure benefits: recreation, learning and education, relationship enhancement, and affection towards the community. These benefits are intricately linked to personal memories, collective identities, and a sense of place, often aligning with or diverging from the museum's officially represented heritage meaning and value. The study, based on qualitative interviews with 68 visitors, sheds light on how leisure experiences shape visitors' perceptions of cultural heritage in Chinese museums.
