Summary
A study reveals how the Jadidism movement, which emerged at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in Turkistan and the Bukhara Emirate, took root in Kesh (Shahrisabz), a historical center along the Kashkadarya River. The research highlights the unique administrative and religious environment of Kesh as part of the emirate, the dynamics of Usul-i Jadid schools spreading across Bukhara, and the connections between local intellectuals and Bukhara's Jadid circles. These interactions facilitated the penetration of reformist ideas into the region. The study employs historical-comparative and biographical analysis methods to uncover these processes.
