Summary

A critical need for inclusive tourism policies emerges from this study, which highlights the diverse perceptions of residents in Osun State's host communities regarding tourism activities. The research, employing a mixed-methods approach with surveys and interviews involving 1,778 participants, reveals that while tourism brings socio-economic benefits, it also presents challenges that require resident feedback to address effectively. Key demographic insights include a majority of respondents being married (53%), holding tertiary qualifications (52.3%), and earning between 50,000 to 100,000 Naira monthly (61.3%). The findings underscore the importance of community engagement in tourism initiatives to maximize positive outcomes for both residents and visitors.
