Summary

Port cities can transform their identity by shifting from industrial exploitation to creative heritage and culture, fostering innovation as a regenerative force. This study explores the strategies of three port cities—Le Havre (France), Taranto (Italy), and Turku (Finland)—where creativity is harnessed to redefine urban spaces. Through interviews with local stakeholders, it highlights how these cities leverage their ports as catalysts for cultural regeneration, connecting them more deeply to heritage while reducing reliance on industrial functions.
