Summary

A 2010 study identified seven ant-lion and one owl-fly species on Socotra Island, with half being endemic. Two new taxa were described: Myrmeleon saldaitisi sp. n., compared to related species, and Myrmeleon hyalinus isolatus ssp. n., distinguished from other subspecies. The study also provided differential diagnoses for Centroclisis lineata and C. speciosa, while illustrating endemic ant-lions including Echthromyrmex insularis, C. lineata, and Neuroleon socotranus. This research contributes to the documentation of Socotra's unique Neuroptera fauna, highlighting its biodiversity significance.
