A significant economic impact on local businesses and enhanced positioning of Quito as a tourist destination were observed following the hosting of a major sporting event featuring Roger Federer in November 2019. This study, conducted through surveys with 23 items grouped into consumer profile and tourist consumption factors, alongside data from Quito Turismo, demonstrated that large-scale events can diversify tourism offerings and drive local development. The findings support Quito's strategy to host various high-profile events beyond sports, highlighting the potential for such initiatives to boost both economic activity and global visibility.
