Summary

Architecture serves as a powerful social symbol, embodying cultural, traditional, historical, and civilizational values beyond its structural function. This study compares three iconic buildings—the Sydney Opera House, the Riga National Library, and the Elbe Philharmonic Hall—to highlight their roles in fostering identity, integration, and international openness. The Sydney Opera House stands as a global platform for renowned architects, artists, and performers, while the Elbe Philharmonic Hall is celebrated as one of the world's top concert venues, particularly for jazz and pop music. The Riga National Library, meanwhile, promotes education and research by freely disseminating cultural heritage. The study underscores the importance of conserving such structures to preserve collective identity and heritage, emphasizing their societal impact.
