Summary
A study on the potential of ecoturism in Trindade, a village within Paraty (RJ) and partially inside the Bocaina Mountains National Park, reveals that while local inhabitants perceive increased tourism as an economic advantage, it is also seen as a threat to biodiversity conservation due to heightened anthropic pressure. The research, based on bibliographic reviews, document analysis, and in-depth interviews with local leaders, highlights the challenges of balancing tourist demands with the preservation of natural resources and traditional activities. Despite these tensions, ecoturism remains a promising but yet-to-be-realized potential for sustainable development in the region.
