Summary
Emergency conservation projects for Algiers' Kasbah, part of the Permanent Plan for Safeguarding and Enhancement (PPSMVSS), have faced significant challenges due to inefficiencies in management and stakeholder interactions. Despite efforts to mitigate deterioration, many projects remain incomplete or unfinished, highlighting a critical gap in Algeria's heritage safeguarding practices. The study employed a mixed-methods approach—combining on-site surveys, interviews, and questionnaires with stakeholders—to evaluate project success factors using Pinto and Slevin’s conceptual model. Findings underscore the need for improved coordination among stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes in urban heritage conservation.
