Summary
A bioarchaeological analysis of a late Roman and early medieval necropolis in Granada's Albayzín reveals significant insights into the health and disease patterns of its inhabitants, contributing to our understanding of life during this transitional period. The study, conducted on remains from the street Panaderos (n. 21-23), combines archaeological and physical anthropology techniques to assess skeletal indicators of stress, diet, and pathological conditions. Findings suggest a population facing challenges such as nutritional deficiencies, infectious diseases, and physical strain, providing a rare window into the biocultural dynamics of late antiquity in southern Iberia.
