Summary

Globalization has significantly transformed contemporary cities in the Islamic world, leading to a Westernized architectural identity that often overlooks traditional Islamic values and aesthetics. This study argues that architects and researchers can reclaim and reinvest these values in modern urban design, serving as an intermediary between global trends and local heritage. By comparing Dubai and Tunis, it highlights the ethical dimensions of architecture while advocating for a holistic approach that integrates Islamic principles into contemporary design practices.
