Summary
Station-based learning significantly boosts students' intrinsic motivation and interest in the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea, a coastal ecosystem rarely addressed in biology education. A study involving 157 secondary school students (aged ~14) found that this teaching approach positively influenced both their engagement and curiosity about the topic. The research also revealed a strong correlation between motivation and interest, underscoring the potential of interactive, student-centered methods to enhance learning outcomes. These findings provide a foundation for integrating the Wadden Sea into biology curricula, offering valuable insights for educators and researchers alike.
