Summary

Participatory heritage initiatives often grapple with the challenge of diverse voices within communities, yet strategies to address multivocality remain underdeveloped. This study identifies key mechanisms for managing such diversity by analyzing three Italian communities: Mesagne and Latiano in Apulia, and Testaccio in Rome's historic center. Through case studies, it reveals how communities navigate conflicting perspectives on heritage, offering insights into the practical implementation of inclusive heritage management. The research highlights the importance of recognizing and integrating diverse narratives to foster more representative and equitable approaches to cultural preservation.
