Summary

Two new species of yellow-green algae, Vaucheria coronata and V. velutina, have been documented for the first time in the Arkhangelsk Region (White Sea), with V. coronata marking a second Russian record and V. velutina representing its debut in the White Sea. The discovery expands the known biodiversity of the Solovetsky Islands by identifying unique morphological traits and habitat preferences of these algae. The research combines field observations with morphological analysis to characterize their growth localities and distribution patterns, contributing new data to regional algal taxonomy.
