Summary

A new management effectiveness assessment system for World Natural Heritage sites, validated through rigorous statistical analysis, demonstrates that Fanjingshan's conservation efforts are highly effective. However, the study also highlights ongoing challenges, particularly from tourism development and community participation. The system, comprising three dimensions (management foundation, measures, and performance) with 21 indexes, was tested for reliability and validity using exploratory factor analysis. Principal component analysis and comprehensive assessment methods were then applied to evaluate Fanjingshan's management effectiveness, revealing both strengths and areas needing improvement.
