Summary
A comprehensive floristic inventory of the Iguaçu and Iguazú National Parks (Brazil and Argentina) reveals 29 species of Bignoniaceae, a significant yet understudied plant family in the Southern Cone. This study identifies key genera such as Dolichandra and Fridericia, each with five species, while also documenting scientific novelties including the first record of Fridericia triplinervia in PARNA Iguaçu and the expansion of Tynanthus micranthus's distribution to Argentina. Additionally, it corrects the endemism status of two Jacaranda species and provides a preliminary conservation assessment for most documented species. The research employs identification keys, photographs, illustrations, and detailed analysis of geographic distribution, habitat, and phenology, contributing critical data for biodiversity management and conservation efforts in this ecologically significant region.
