Summary
A new survey of the Ogasawara Islands reveals significant discoveries in the diversity of Dryinidae and Embolemidae wasps. Two previously unknown species, Gonatopus adelphos and Ampulicomorpha viator, were identified and described for the first time from Anijima. Additionally, three species—Gonatopus tambiniae, Anteon achterbergi, and Gonatopus nigricans—were recorded in the region for the first time, expanding their known distribution. The male of Dryinus sinicus was also described for the first time. Notably, Gonatopus hagoromo was determined to be a junior synonym of Gonatopus tambiniae. This research contributes to our understanding of the biodiversity and taxonomy of Hymenoptera in this remote and ecologically significant archipelago.
