Summary
A novel approach to enhancing tourist engagement with UNESCO World Heritage Sites is demonstrated through the development of the SMART framework, which integrates synchronous location-aware media and augmented visualization. This study presents a four-step conceptual model designed to provide real-time, contextually relevant information about Khalifatabad in Bagerhat, Bangladesh, addressing gaps in accessibility and understanding for visitors. By leveraging location-based services (LBS) and interactive data structures, the framework aims to create an immersive and memorable experience that deepens appreciation of the site's cultural significance. The prototype application, tailored specifically for handheld devices, offers seamless access to authentic historical details, setting a precedent for future heritage preservation efforts in Bangladesh.
