Summary
A rare, partially preserved chronicle entry from the 12th century reveals that the foundation of Pskov's Trinity Cathedral was likely laid by Prince Vsevolod Mstislavich in 1133 (or possibly 1123). This discovery emerges from marginal notes in a manuscript belonging to Novgorod's Annunciation Monastery, providing direct evidence linking the cathedral's origins to its ruler. The study employs paleographic and codicological analysis of the manuscript to authenticate the dating, offering new insights into the architectural history of Pskov's UNESCO-listed churches.
