Summary

A groundbreaking study identifies four new species of Laboulbeniales (Ascomycetes) from the Białowieża Forest, including Corethromyces bialowiezensis on Tachyporus solutus, Cryptandromyces bryaxidis on Bryaxis bulbifer, Euphoriomyces unilateralis on Agathidium atrum, and Phaulomyces ptilii on Ptilium affine. Additionally, 18 species new to Poland and potentially two or three new to Europe were documented. The research, conducted between 1994–1998, complements earlier work by Majewski (1994) and provides critical insights into the biodiversity of this UNESCO-listed site. Morphological and systematic details for known species were also refined.
