Summary
Research on forest fire prevention and landscape management in the Cévennes, France, demonstrates how environmental studies become deeply embedded in their application contexts over time. A 13-year case study of the Rouvergue forest reaménagement revealed that scientific approaches must adapt to evolving societal needs and multi-actor dynamics. The findings highlight the necessity for transdisciplinary dialogue between researchers and stakeholders to effectively address complex landscape challenges, while also emphasizing the need for differentiated contextual frameworks in such collaborations.
