Summary

Babylon, Iraq's ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, must rapidly adopt digital transformation to meet modern tourists' expectations for seamless, personalized, and technologically enhanced experiences. A study of 315 visitors revealed that investing in digital infrastructure—such as mobile apps, social media, and data analytics—is critical not only for visitor satisfaction but also for Babylon's global reputation in the digital age. However, progress is hindered by a shortage of skilled digital professionals and limited collaboration among government, industry, universities, and research institutes. The findings highlight that embracing these technologies can position Babylon as a technologically advanced destination while fostering an inclusive atmosphere for tourists.
