Summary
Private tomb architecture at Amarna, used briefly during a period of religious upheaval, exhibited significant variation and development despite its short lifespan. This study analyzed archaeological material from Amarna's private tombs, comparing them to contemporary Theban tombs through wall decoration examinations. Findings revealed both similarities and differences, highlighting how tomb architecture adapted to new religious ideas while maintaining diversity in form. The research provides a unique 'snapshot' of this transitional phase, offering insights into the evolution of funerary practices during a transformative period in ancient Egyptian history.
