Summary
Lodgepole pine of Yukon origin demonstrates exceptional adaptability and growth potential when introduced to the European North of Russia, particularly on the Solovetsky Islands. A study conducted in the Arkhangelsk region found that this species thrives under improved soil cultivation conditions, exhibiting robust growth in height, diameter, and trunk volume. The research, which involved three experimental plots established in 1988 with two-year-old seedlings from Yukon seeds, concluded that Lodgepole pine is well-suited for fast-growing forest plantations in productive forest types of the hylocomiosa group, such as oxalidosum and fresh myrtillosum. These findings suggest significant potential for introducing this species to enhance forest productivity in similar environments.
