Summary

A novel approach combining Geographical Information System (GIS) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) successfully identified erosion risk zones on the island of Corfu, Greece. The model, validated by field data, demonstrated high accuracy in predicting areas vulnerable to erosion due to their lithology and exposure to heavy rainfall. This method offers a robust tool for assessing erosion risks in regions with similar geological and climatic conditions.
