Summary

A study conducted at Prambanan Temple revealed that junior high school students could identify and describe fundamental geometric shapes, such as rectangles, squares, triangles, circles, cubes, cuboids, and cylinders, present in the temple's artifacts. These descriptions serve as preliminary concepts of geometry for the students, highlighting their observational skills and foundational mathematical knowledge. The research employed qualitative methods, including tests and interviews with three students over two weeks, to assess their understanding. The findings suggest that direct exposure to historical structures can effectively enhance students' geometric awareness.
