Summary
A study on Göreme National Park reveals significant gaps in the enforcement and monitoring of sustainability measures aimed at protecting its resources. Despite established rules for tourist activities to preserve the park's ecological and cultural values, compliance is inconsistent due to insufficient staffing and oversight. The research identifies critical areas needing improvement: stricter implementation of visitor management strategies, enhanced security protocols, and better public education about the site's conservation needs. Using a case study approach with 34 stakeholder interviews, the study applies content and descriptive analysis to highlight these challenges and propose actionable solutions for sustainable tourism in the region.
