Summary
A collaborative project in Old Havana, Cuba, demonstrates the potential for social interventions to reduce water misuse in households. By targeting daily habits and leveraging community structures—particularly the role of women in water management—the study achieved measurable behavioral changes in the Jesús María neighborhood. The initiative combined diagnostic assessments with tailored education strategies, grounded in social, educational, and environmental analyses. Funded by AECID, this work highlights the effectiveness of participatory approaches in addressing resource conservation challenges within UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
