Summary

Research on the Putorana Plateau reveals that aquatic and semiaquatic bird populations exhibit concentric, centrifugal spatial dynamics in the mountainous Subarctic region. Population density for these species remains relatively stable across habitats, with a maximal indicator only 1.9 times higher than the minimal. The study also found that population density decreases from the subalpine belt to the forest and alpine belts. This research sheds light on the patterns of bird population formation in altitudinally zoned environments, offering insights into the ecological dynamics of Subarctic lake-river systems.
