Summary

George Town, Malaysia, can enhance its cultural sustainability by adopting strategies similar to those of Kanazawa, Japan. A qualitative study comparing the two cities found that while both leverage culture for development, Kanazawa's model is more effective due to its integration into urban planning and governance. The research highlights the need for George Town to formally incorporate culture into its development plans to preserve diversity and ensure long-term sustainability. This approach could serve as a blueprint for other creative cities aiming for holistic growth.
