Summary
This study contributes to the understanding of late antique architecture in Siscia (modern day Sisak, Croatia), particularly regarding the potential construction of a Christian basilica. It highlights the significance of the Episcopal Complex of the Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč and other early Christian sites in Croatia, which have gained international recognition for their archaeological importance. The research builds on nearly 50 years of excavations, revealing new insights into the architectural evolution and cultural context of these sites. Organized as part of the first national conference on early Christian archaeology (HRRANA) held in Zagreb in 2018, the study aims to advance knowledge by presenting current findings, methodological challenges, and future research directions in Croatian early Christian studies.
