Summary
Chemical denudation in the Drienovec Cave Basin of Slovak Karst exhibits significant seasonal variability, ranging from 2.38 to 64.53 m³/km²/year, with an average of 15 m³/km²/year. This dynamic process is closely linked to spring discharge and water chemistry, influenced by geological formations such as Wetterstein, Waxenec, and Drienovec conglomerates. The study, conducted over three hydrological years, provides the first detailed insights into chemical denudation in this region, revealing comparable rates to other European karst areas like Moravský kras (Czech Republic) and Dobrudža Mountains (Bulgaria).
