Summary

The Karaganda region, located in the elevated central part of Kazakhstan's Saryarka steppe and lakes, exhibits complex geomorphological features including shallow hummocks, river valleys, dry watercourses, and closed basins. This region is characterized by its diverse natural conditions, with a total forest area of 269.6 thousand hectares. The study highlights the vulnerability of this area to wildfires during summer months due to high temperatures, lack of rainfall, and extensive steppe zones. Additionally, the Karaganda region is identified as a significant industrial center, with industries such as mining, metallurgy, and chemical processing contributing substantially to its economy, accounting for 80.1% of industrial production.
