Summary

Decision-makers at UNESCO World Heritage Sites (WHS) in Tanzania are more likely to adopt ICTs when they perceive relative advantages and lower complexity, as well as when supported by robust infrastructure and skills. A study of 238 respondents found that perceived competitive pressure and customer pressure also significantly influence ICT usage, though compatibility was not a determining factor. This research advances understanding of ICT adoption in tourism, offering insights to guide policy and practice for heritage sites, training institutions, hotels, vendors, consultants, and government agencies.
