Summary

A rare, almost extinct type of 18th–19th century ox stable, situated within the UNESCO-listed Holy Monastery of Pantokrator on Mount Athos, has been restored and analyzed for its seismic performance. The study presents architectural drawings and surveying plots of the structure's current state, serving as a valuable reference for scholars. A detailed proposal for the building's reuse was approved by Greece’s Central Archeological Council. Structural analysis using finite element modeling (FE) with SAP2000 software demonstrated that the proposed design significantly enhances the earthquake resistance of the masonry structure, addressing challenges posed by its irregular elevation and varying footing heights.
