Summary
Ganghwa Dolmen Sites, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Gochang, Hwasun and Ganghwa Dolmen Sites,' exhibit generally well-preserved conditions due to protective measures since their 2000 designation. However, despite this conservation success, these ancient Bronze Age megalithic tombs remain underutilized as social or cultural resources. The study highlights that strategic planning—including targeted research, restoration efforts, and policy interventions such as designating a protected cultural heritage zone—is essential to enhance their societal value. Recommendations include implementing regional engagement programs, organizing festivals, and removing obstructions in the surrounding landscape to restore historical contexts. Such measures could significantly boost the sites' cultural significance while ensuring sustainable preservation.
