Summary
A trial excavation in the Old City of Acre, conducted in April–May 2018, uncovered significant archaeological insights prior to the construction of the Ramchal Synagogue Visitors' Center. The excavation, led by researchers from the Israel Antiquities Authority and the University of Genoa, revealed new evidence about the Genoese Quarter's historical layers. Key findings included detailed digital documentation, numismatic analysis, and metal artifact studies, which shed light on the site's complex stratigraphy and cultural significance. This study contributes to the understanding of Acre's layered history, particularly its medieval and early modern periods.
