Summary
International cooperation in Paraguay's Chaco region often reinforces a narrow definition of 'the political,' sidelining indigenous practices by labeling them as religious or ignoring them altogether. This study critiques how such cooperation, rooted in the nature-culture divide, undermines diverse indigenous political expressions. Through qualitative analysis, it examines the implications of this dynamic on indigenous organizations, highlighting the need for more inclusive frameworks that recognize and integrate indigenous political agency beyond conventional Western constructs.
