Summary
Coyo Oriente, an archaeological cemetery in San Pedro de Atacama, stands out as a critical reference for the Middle Period of the region's agroalfarero chronology. This study provides the first comprehensive analysis of the site, revealing its significance with the second-highest concentration of Tiwanaku artifacts outside the core region and notable Aguada material culture from northwest Argentina. The research defines an Ergologic Profile for Coyo Oriente, detailing contextual components and their representativeness indices, while also examining ethnic identity and foreignness through status indicators over time. This work fills a gap in the literature by offering a thorough review of a site that has previously been only partially documented.
