Summary

A study using GNSS observations provides the first quantitative estimates of long-term crustal movements near the southern end of the Central Sikhote-Alin Fault (CSAF) in Primorsky Krai, showing no significant displacements exceeding a few millimeters per year. This contradicts earlier geological estimates and offers new insights into the fault's modern geodynamic activity. Additionally, the research models the impact of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake on regional crustal movements, finding good agreement with existing seismic source models and postseismic viscoelastic relaxation theories.
